Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

For our non-pole classes and beginner pole classes, please wear comfortable workout clothes. Examples include yoga pants, shorts, and tank tops. For our intermediate pole classes, please wear shorts and a sports bra (you need your skin to have contact with the pole). If you chose to wear high heels in class (instructors will often be wearing them), please make sure they are dance shoes, not street shoes. We have dance shoes to purchase in our lobby. Note: For safety reasons, please do not wear lotion prior to pole class. This will make the pole very slippery and dangerous for you and the next person. We will not allow students wearing lotion to use the poles. Also, please remove all jewelry before class.

How do I sign up for class?

Please sign up through MindBodyOnline located on the schedule tab or click here. We do not encourage clients to come to class without registering first.

Is there an age limit?

Due to the sensual nature of pole dancing, our studio is intended for those who are at least 18 years of age. However, we do allow private lessons for younger girls with a parent’s permission.

Do I need prior experience?

Absolutely not! We offer a variety of foundational classes that will help you learn the key elements of pole dancing. Our progressive format will help you advance in your practice as quickly as possible!

What can I expect on my first day?

No need to worry about being shy. Here at Pole Play, we welcome everyone from the start. You will meet the instructor and start class with a warm up and stretch. From there, you will learn some basic pole techniques and may even learn a mini routine! To avoid injury, there will always be a cool down after class.

How long are the classes?

Classes are 1 hour long.

What if I’m shy?

faq3We understand that trying something new can be a little scary at first. However, we welcome all new students with open arms. Our instructors are kind and inclusive and understand beginner shyness. We are confident that after your first class, you will have fun, make new friends, and forget why you were nervous in the first place!

This is so much fun! How often should I train to get really good and do all of the cool tricks?

We recommend training at least 3 times a week to be the best pole dancer you can be. We offer a monthly unlimited package which will allow you to get the most classes for the best price.

faq2What is your class cancellation policy?

You may cancel up to 12 hours before your scheduled class by logging into your MindBodyOnline account.  You will be given a credit towards another scheduled class of your choosing (pre-purchases are non-refundable). We regret we cannot accept cancel requests over the phone or via e-mail.

If you are enrolled in a series class, you may do 1 missed class make-up in another class as space is available.

Classes purchased may not be transferred. No refunds for pre-paid classes or sessions.

Classes have a minimum student registration of 3 to run class. If you register online and a class does not reach the minimum allowance, you will be notified via email and will be allowed to register for another class of your choosing.
